End of Night (2010) (free) 02:44
End of Night was actually the first song I ever composed, using my free sample pack of Magix Music Maker on my laptop way back in 2010. The song immediately came to represent a particularly tumultuous time in my life; without going into details, I will just say that it was made the night before a years-long descent into the abyss. As such, it is still my favourite thing I ever have, and likely will ever do, even if it is a bit cheesy. I felt it warranted inclusion somewhere in the Claustrophobia discography, if only to ensure it is well preserved and documented. It kicks off EP 2 to signal the fact that the project is going in a new direction from previous releases.

Silent Breeze 2 (free) 06:09
A sequel to the opener from Beyond the Light, Silent Breeze 2 is a different beast entirely, but utilises the same atmospheric ambience as the basis for the track. It started with the rain harp section (which now appears in the final third of the song) and I knew I wanted to expand it into a full sequel. After working on it for a long time, there are now three distinct sections of the track: piano, spoken word and rain harp. It isn’t as cohesive as I’d have liked but this is as close as I’m ever going to get to what I want.
3.
Moon Dance (free) 06:41
A new EP release in the Claustrophobia discography is meant to represent a stylistic evolution, as well as a continuation of previous sounds and ideas. End of Night was the genesis for all Claustrophobia music, Silent Breeze 2 is a continuation of what was heard on Beyond the Light, and Moon Dance is the next step in the space ambient that was explored on Through the Veil. The storm samples at the beginning and end transitioned well from the water samples bookending Silent Breeze 2, while the mood of the track somehow fits into the context of the EP despite being much darker than what came before it.
4.
Interlude (free) 01:01
A cool drum sample over some ideas that were mashed together, reversed, reverbed and pitch-shifted. That’s it.
5.
Improv Jam (free) 03:47
EP 1 was 90% improvised and recorded on the spot. In that same spirit, I picked up a guitar and just recorded what I played. This was the result. As a terrible guitar player (and musician in general) this is probably the worst idea I’ve ever committed to release but it just works somehow. It also signals at a potential future direction for Claustrophobia, with new material so far being mostly guitar-based.
6.
The End (free) 04:19
What you are hearing here is a few simply picked and strummed guitar chords, stretched out to oblivion. The title is taken from the words spoken at the end of the track, as well as an obvious reference to the fact that it is the end of the EP (duh). Funnily enough, this was the track that delayed the release of this EP the longest, as I recorded over 12 versions of the song in search of the perfect atmosphere.
